Ray Beckett has worked as a film sound recordist and mixer for over 4 decades, becoming a pioneering industry leader in his field and picking up numerous awards along the way. In 2009, Ray picked up the sound Oscar for his work on the Kathryn Bigelow Best Picture winner ‘The Hurt Locker’ before going on to collaborate with the illustrious director on Zero Dark Thirty and Detroit. Previously Ray provided SSFF with an insight into his production sound process and the methods that have taken him to the top of the film business. Now in 2021, join us as we touch base with Ray again, this time talking more specifically about his work with another SSFF21 guest, KEN LOACH.
